Building System

Building in the game takes place on a hexagonal grid, you issue the design/layout and construction is carried out by your citizens, building construction is restricted by other buildings, terrain elevation, terrain hardness, waterbodies and rivers.
Buildings are divided into categories:
  • Kingdom - Buildings that serve you directly and your faction needs. (castle, embassy, court, dungeon, etc.)

  • Military - Buildings purposed to serve your military needs (barracks, armory, watchtowers, etc.)

  • Production - Work buildings used by your civilian workforce to obtain, produce and process resources. (hunting, foraging, farming, timber-felling, mining, etc.)

  • Service - Building used by your citizens for various everyday needs, usually needs to be staffed. (schools, healthcare, firefighting, police, etc.)

  • Private - Building "owned" privately by citizens like housing. (private buildings are still under your control but are subject to special rules and regulations)

  • Infrastructure - Buildings (and other constructs) that provides basic city needs and improve general efficiency. (roads, water channels, resource storage, etc.)

One "special" building is the castle walls, they are part of the military category but they have some special functionality:

  • built in segments, each segment takes up a full hex

  • segments can connect to each other and to other buildings (if the other building enables it)

  • segments can vary in height with limits

  • segments can have crenellations, machicolations, gateways, stairs and murderholes
